Now before I go full on Bollywood Bashing, let me just tell you that I have absolutely nothing against the local culture or traditions of Indian People. Also, I do not automatically believe that a movie or any piece of Art for that matter that is produced in a Vernacular language is automatically inferior to something western Produced. What I do have a problem is with the sub-standard stories, ideas, dialogues, lyrics and overall retarded piece of works that Bollywood has been dishing out to Indian Audiences for many years now.
The First problem with Bollywood is its very very unrealistic depiction of life in India. You have cheesy dialogues in a dialect of the vernacular which almost no one uses in real life. You have some words which most audiences cannot understand or which they would really never use themselves. Then you have random Dance Sequences from pretty much anywhere imaginable; you have cheap item numbers, you have songs which do not fit in with the context of the movie etc.
Secondly, there is a whole lot of REPETITIVENESS. Even though most bollywood movies themselves have senseless scripts, other Filmmakers feel free to copy ideas from other BS bollywood movies. Thus continues a vicious cycle of Retardation. Bollywood is probably one of the worst Film Industries in the world when it comes to Originality and Creativity.
Finally, there is a growing trend of poorly aping Hollywood movies which in most cases is a terrible disaster. A lot of the poorer/rural population cannot really connect with this and most of the Urban Middle class and the rich find this to be simply a very poor and distasteful imitation of the West. In other cases, you have and entire Idea behind a movie simply lifted and repackaged into a 'Desi' version which is very very repulsive to most viewers.
